Dr Emily Lockwood bio below:

Dr Lockwood holds 30 years of experience in nursing, advanced practice (since 2004/5), education, project  management work in implementing ANP and research, with a PhD by research and two MScs in advanced nursing  practice & nursing science, BSc Nursing Science and HDip in General Nursing Science. 

Dr Lockwood has a teaching and learning post grad certificate in Higher Education. 

Research underpinnings – SDT (motivational theory)dialectical stance (paradigm)mixed methods researcher. It’s a self-motivational theory for those of you interested.  

Invited Keynote speaker on self-determination theory, how to motivate others, implementing APN and what do we  mean when we say Impact of APN in practice – for the International Council of Nursing APN network in Dublin, Hamburg, Berlin, Finland and China. 

Was recently awarded the ‘Sigma Winner European Research Grant Prize 2024’ for the psychometric testing of her  impact APN scale and thematic analysis work. 

Areas of expertise include impact factors of advanced levels of clinical autonomy, gender considerations,  organisational culture, equality & diversity in health care & education. 

She holds credentialised registration at nursing board level as a: registered advanced nurse practitioner in paediatric  and adult emergency nursing, registered nurse prescriber of medications & ionising & radiation & is a Registered  General Nurse. 

Dr Lockwood is an invited member of the International Council of Nurses APN and sits on the Alumni committee  and is an international Honor Society member of Sigma.  

Emily is a passionate supporter of the advanced nursing practitioners of the IAANMP the IAANMP committee and  was a past: IAANMP member, officer, secretary, treasurer. She remains an IAANMP associate member.

Mr. David Delaney

David is the newly elected Secretary. He currently works in the Emergency Department of University Hospital Limerick. David graduated from the University of Tasmania in Australia and started his career in cardiac care. From there he worked in the Intensive care units of the Royal Hobart Hospital, Tasmania, the Royal Prince Alfred, Sydney, St. James Hospital, Dublin and University Hospital Limerick. He is currently a Clinical Skills Facilitator in the Emergency Department of University Hospital Limerick. He has previously studied a postgraduate diploma in Intensive Care Nursing with NUI Galway and is currently in his dissertation year of this Masters in Advanced Nursing Care also with NUI Galway. David will be a registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner once his MSc is complete. David also holds a position on the student subgroup of the International Council of Nurses NP/APN network.
