Invitation to Participate: PhD Research Study on ‘Robot use in professional nursing practice’.

Dear Advanced Nurse and Midwife Practitioners,

My name is Aminat Adeyemo, a PhD researcher in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Limerick, supervised by Dr Liz Kingston and Dr Maria Noonan. I am conducting a study titled: “Robot use in professional nursing practice: a mixed-methods study exploring perceptions and preparedness of nursing students, registered nurses, and nursing leadership.”

I am writing to kindly request the support of the Irish Association of Advanced Nurse and Midwife Practitioners (IAANMP) in sharing the attached invitation and Participant Information Leaflet with your members and encouraging eligible members to participate in the qualitative (interview) strand of the research.

Given IAANMP’s leadership in advancing advanced practice, your members’ perspectives are particularly valuable for understanding how robotics and related technologies may influence advanced practice roles, service delivery, and preparedness within the profession.

What participation involves:

  • A 30–45 minute semi-structured interview, at a time convenient to the participant
  • Option to take part via MS Teams, phone, or in person
  • Participation is voluntary, and all data will be handled confidentially and anonymised
  • Participants may withdraw up to two weeks after the interview

This study has received ethics approval from the Education and Health Sciences Research Ethics Committee (EHS REC Project ID: 2025_06_04).

If you are willing to circulate the invitation, I would be very grateful. Thank you for your time and support.

Kind regards,

Aminat Adeyemo
