Bernie Carpenter Perpetual Bursary

The Bernie Carpenter Perpetual Bursary was established in memory of one of the founding members of the Association, Bernie Carpenter, who sadly passed away in March 2021. This award recognises Bernie’s lifelong commitment to nursing, particularly in the area of nurse education, and honours her selfless contribution to the IAANMP.

Applying for this bursary is a meaningful way to honour Bernie’s legacy. The aim of the bursary is to enhance members’ professional development through attendance at relevant conferences or engagement in further education, while also encouraging reflection on the benefits of these experiences. This bursary offers members a valuable opportunity to access international and national expertise, engage with current research, and network with fellow health professionals working in advanced practice.

Trisha McKeown Bursary Award

The Irish Association of Advanced Nurse and Midwife Practitioners (IAANMP) is proud to introduce a new bursary award in 2026, established in memory of Advanced Nurse Practitioner Trisha McKeown.

This annual bursary has been created to honour Trisha’s outstanding contribution to advanced nursing practice and her unwavering commitment to clinical excellence, professional development, and patient-centered care. Trisha was a highly respected colleague whose passion for advanced practice, education, and advocacy had a lasting impact on both patients and peers.

The Trisha McKeown Bursary Award will support an ANP or AMP to pursue networking, educational, research, or professional development activities aligned with the core values of advanced practice and the mission of the IAANMP. Through this award, the Association aims to continue Trisha’s legacy by investing in the leadership and growth of the advanced practice community.
